We got a coffee machine a few months ago and have been trying lots of different beans since - this is one of our favourites!!
Origin: Finca, Nueva Grenada
Notes: Almond, Toffee with chocolate finish.
About producer: A much-prized Central American coffee from Finca, Nueva Grenada, nestled between the two tallest volcanoes in Guatemala. Rich and full flavoured with fruity acidity and good body. Notes of almond and toffee with a distinct acidic finish. Named after the last Arab Fortress in Europe, this was one of the first farms to achieve Rainforest Alliance Certification.
Rainfall in Guatemala is unpredictable and often heavy causing the coffee plant to flower in a day. Nueva Granada uses its own clear spring water to pulp the coffee cherries. Two beans come from each red coffee cherry and they are washed and graded in running spring water, then dried slowly and evenly on patios and in low heat dryers.
Brewing Methods: As an Espresso, this coffee is strong and you can smell the volcanic ash as you open the bag. As an Espresso, let is sit for a 10 seconds, gently stir to oxide the creme and then this beautiful toffee sweetness blooms with almond and a distinct acidic finish. As a Flat white, this coffee is complimented with the smoothness of the milk giving it a sweet nutty taste. If you prefer to eliminate the acidity, brew methods such as the AeroPress and V60 are perfect resulting a clean full flavoured coffee.
250g ground* - please request on each order whether you require for cafetière, V60, Espresso or AeroPress.
