About Producer: Peruvian coffee is grown primarily in the Andean mountain regions, with natural shade to protect the coffee trees. CECOVASA was founded in 1970, when a group of Peruvian coffee farmers in the Lake Titicaca region of Peru came together to find a better way to sell their coffee. CECOVASA, which is comprised of eight cooperatives, has participated in the Fairtrade market for ten years and sells directly to the U.S. and European markets. Its members are primarily from the indigenous Quechua and Aymará tribes
